Chapter Lead QA

Hello, we are Quin's product tech team of over 100 engineers. A tech community of Kotlin/Spring Boot enthusiasts, React natives, Cloud experts and the QA pros.

As our Chapter Lead QA  

You assume responsibility for all QA endeavours. Given our transition from a scale-up to a product-led organisation, this calls for your managing skills, you will lead a team of around 10 amazing QA Engineers and you’ll also do some hands-on work to maximise your impact.  

Would you like to take the next step in testing by fully automating it with tools like REST-assured, Gradle, Cypress and Appium? In scope. Creating dashboarding and/or structuring test plans? All yours, too. As is passionately promoting your vision to a diverse range of stakeholders, from product managers, BI analysts, Backend, Frontend and UI/UX - ers to colleagues in the AI data team.

As Chapter lead QA, you report to our CTO Omar and work in tandem, where you can always tap into the insights of your peers: people who’ve been around and will gladly help you out. 


 Concrete topics you’ll zoom in on:  

  • Help devise and implement automated testing 
  • Build and grow the QA team 
  • Join in the Scrum rituals, assist in predefinements (as QA you know the product best), and test code with our and/or your favourite tools 
  • Discuss issues and ideas with Front and Back End Engineers, e.g. to further refine our testing vision and strategy 
  • Contribute to dashboarding (currently in the ‘grassroots project’ stage) by building them and/or providing incisive suggestions and feedback 


How do you make us better? 

If you are Chapter lead and you … 

  • Have a proven ability (at least 3 years of experience) to manage a team of at least 10 Engineers, inspire and develop teams. This included 1-1s, appraisals, etc. 
  • Have 7+ years of testing experience, preferably with modern tools like REST-assured, Gradle, Cypress and Appium. We award bonus points for Kotlin/Java expertise for backend or Javascript/Typescript/React Native for frontend 
  • API testing experience would be great 
  • Used to working in ‘privacy-first’ settings where security is a main concern 
  • Dashboarding experience: you quickly know what is called for 
  • Experience in setting up testing strategies is a huge plus 

You feel comfortable in fast-paced work environments #changeistheonlyconstant, in learning, sharing, and gaining a different set of skills. And you are not overwhelmed when colleagues challenge the status quo and make suggestions. You have strong verbal and written communication skills.
