Data Engineer

32 - 40 hours - €60K to €80K gross annual - Amsterdam (hybride)

Hello, we are Quin's product tech team of over 100 engineers. A community with a clear purpose: to develop a clean and scalable platform that propels healthcare into the 22nd century.

Not for ‘the lucky few,’ but for everyone, everywhere within The Netherlands. If that’s a purpose you can get behind, now is the time to team up because we are building next-gen doctor and patient-facing apps that effortlessly guides patients to the right medical assistance. We’re also reverse-engineering our Android and iOS apps as a web service.

Together with medical professionals (At Quin, there’s always a doctor in the room!), commercial professionals, developers and your co-data engineers, you work in an environment where the (patient) stakes are high and the roadmap is ambitious! If you feel at home in a setting where autonomy is a given and collaborating with your peers appeals to you, you are welcome to join our development lab!

As our Data Engineer

You will become part of the Analytics & Data Platform team and work closely together with BI developers, Cloud Architects and Software Developers.

The team is responsible for building the Data Platform, including the data lake, from scratch. Also the team focuses on data input, availability and accuracy for dashboarding. For instance we have a dashboard which gives an overview on cost-benefit analysis for our financials and we have a dashboard which gives insights on how the different features we offer on the web and mobile app are being used by patients and doctors.

If it is your ambition we provide the possibility to take on responsibility for DevOps processes to support the data platform. More specific; you will be dealing with managing infrastructure on AWS. If not, then you can fully focus on data pipelines and the platform!

We provide a lot of room to foster your creative mind by giving you an opportunity to explore tools, methodologies and architectural patterns that will not only make you a better professional, but also bring Quin forward as a data-driven organisation.

Our tech stack for this position is: PostgresSQL, Amazon S3, Python, Gitlab CI/CD, Linux, AWS, Kubernetes, Argo Workflow, PowerBI, Docker

How do you make us better?

If you are a Data Engineer with good experience working with:

  • 3 years or more of experience in a Data engineering role
  • JSON and CSV file formats
  • Python, SQL, Git, DevOps tasks and using Linux scripting
  • using REST API’s to collect data (in micro-services architecture)
  • Preferred: Knowledge on work orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or Argo
  • and last, but not least:

You feel comfortable learning, sharing, and gaining a different set of skills. And you are not overwhelmed when colleagues challenge the status quo and make suggestions. You have strong verbal and written communication skills.

...then this job is right for you!

What will you get from us?

We hope the opportunity to future-proof healthcare with us gets your adrenaline pumping. That’s what makes your colleagues tick. Speaking of which, you’ll work with talented, international teammates who are always happy to bounce ideas off each other, so learning from peers is a given. We accelerate the learning curve through our (buzz incoming) career development program, which helps you plot the optimal Quin course and empowers you to reach personal goals quicker.  As for the nitty-gritty: we ‘inject’ your checking account with a gross salary between €60-€80k per year depending on seniority.

We support flexibility and work life balance, and offer a hybrid work environment.3 days from home and 2 days in the office is what we aim for. But given our prime location (the former Netflix building), you may find yourself gravitating towards HQ more often. If only to challenge a colleague in our gaming room, grab a meal in our cafeteria, participate in bootcamps, join our regular learning sessions and lunch lectures. Last but not least, relocation assistance from start to finish.
